Dear Scouting Family, Friends, and Supporters:

It is a great honor to announce that the Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America, Robert (Bob) J. Mazzuca, will be a guest in our great council.  Mr. Mazzuca is the CEO of the largest youth-serving organization in the United States.  You may click here to read his bio.  Mr. Mazzuca will be visiting the Pee Dee Area Council as the keynote speaker for the council's Friends of Scouting kickoff events on February 23rd and 24th, 2012.  Bob is excited to be our speaker this year as our council has made great strides in membership growth, advancement, volunteer recruitment and training over the last few years.
As your Scout Executive I am proud to announce the council will kickoff the 2012 Friends of Scouting campaign with a dinner in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on February 23rd and a luncheon in Florence, South Carolina on February 24th.  More details will be shared as they are developed. The Council Executive Board encourages everyone to be a part of these historic events.  If you have questions, please contact your District Executive or feel free to email me directly at barry.mcdonald@scouting.org
On behalf of the 4,000 scouts in our eleven counties I thank you for your continued support of this great movement we call Scouting.

Respectfully,

Barry W. McDonald
Scout Executive
