
About Chicora District Chicora District provides services to Marion and Horry counties. There are over forty Boy Scout and Cub Scout units within the district in addition to over 1200 youth and over 300 volunteers. Roundtable nights are the first Thursday of each month from Program Launch in August to June. Roundtable is held at University Baptist Church in Conway (on Hwy 501 just north of Coastal Carolina University) and roundtable serves as an excellent opportunity for unit leaders to participate in on-going training, fun program ideas and useful insight into making their pack or troop more successful. The District Training Committee provides initial training for Cub and Boy Scout leaders on a monthly basis. For more information, contact Bob Reinhardt, the Training Committee Chairman. The district also has a team of commissioners to ensure that your pack or troop runs smoothly. They can help with all things ranging from getting recharters completed to helping you attain the proper training and resources.
The Pee Dee Area Council is excited to announce the Chistina Mahan has been hires to Serve as the District Executive for the Chirora District. She will begin her new duties on May 1st, 2010. Christina is a 2008 graduate of Eastern Carolina University and is no stranger to BSA. She has been a Venture Crew Leader and worked on the Philmont staff for two summers. Christina's hobies include, backpacking, Horseback riding, cycling and theatre.
